Be a Kid Again and Burn Calories

An important part of losing weight is to get out and move. While you can run or take aerobics, you can do many of the fun things you did as a kid and burn calories. Here are five fund things you can do to be like a kid again. Better yet, get your kids and family to join in for even more fun.

  • Ride Bikes: Cycling for 30 minutes can burn up to 477 calories!
  • Bowling: 60 minutes of bowling can burn 205 calories. Plus because of the weight of the ball and balance required, it also works your core (abs).
  • Dancing: Put on your favorite tunes and boogie down to burn up to 478 calories and hour.
  • Frisbee: Tossing the frisbee can burn 205 calories an hour.
  • Roller skating: My first skates had metal wheels (golly I’m old). My next pair had blue wheels. Now I have inline skates and can burn over 400 calories an hour!

Of course the number of calories you burn will also depend on how hard you work at the activity. But if you don’t think about the work, and just focus on having fun, then you shouldn’t have any problem burning and playing!

joggerIts an odd fact of life that we’re more likely to do something we don’t like to help someone else, than we are to do it for ourselves. If you’re that type of person, the Plus3Network.com is for you. The site connects sponsors who will pay the charity of your choice for each mile that you bike, run, walk or swim (more exercise options such as tennis and gym time are coming). Simply choose your cause (many to choose from including Breast Cancer Research, Project Rwanda, and The Environmental Defense Fund), log in your miles, and your charity is paid through sponsors.

You can help raise even more money by inviting your friends to join and organizing teams and/or events.

The best part is that each time your exercise, you aren’t only improving your health, but you’re helping to raise money for a worthy cause. Learn more at Plus3Network.com.
